Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of WorkGlass, a time-tracking and invoicing application made by G Schultz Design LLC of Palm Harbor, Florida ("we", "us"). Creating an account or buying a license means you accept them.

1. What you get

Every new WorkGlass account starts with a free 30 day trial with every feature turned on: unlimited clients, projects, time entries and invoices, all appearance settings, Backup and Sync across your devices, and the full JSON export. No payment is needed to start the trial.

To keep using WorkGlass after the trial, you buy a $20 one-time license. The license is perpetual: it does not expire, does not renew, and is not a subscription. Future updates to WorkGlass are included at no additional cost.

Whether or not you buy, you can export all of your data at any time.

2. Your license

A license grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use WorkGlass. It is for one person, you, and may be used on the devices you personally use. It may not be resold, shared, sublicensed, or issued to other members of a team; each person who uses WorkGlass needs their own license.

You may not copy, decompile, reverse engineer or redistribute WorkGlass itself, or remove its branding and present it as your own. The software and everything in it remain the property of G Schultz Design LLC.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password and license details to yourself, and for everything done through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe either has been compromised. Provide a real email address, since that is where your license and any service notices go.

4. Payment, tax and the merchant of record

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the merchant of record for all WorkGlass orders: your purchase contract for the transaction is with Paddle, which collects payment, charges any sales tax or VAT required where you live, issues your receipt, and handles customer service inquiries and returns for the payment itself. Prices are in US dollars. Paddle's buyer terms apply to the payment, and we never see or store your card details.

5. Refunds

Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy. In short: the 30 day trial is how you decide, so purchases are not normally refunded, but accidental or duplicate charges are, and so is a purchase where WorkGlass does not work for you and we cannot fix it. Nothing in these terms limits any refund or cancellation right you have under the law where you live.

6. Your data is your responsibility

WorkGlass is local-first by design. With Backup switched off, your data exists only in your browser's storage on that device. Clearing site data, losing the device, or using a different browser will lose it, and we have no copy to restore. Export a JSON backup regularly. Even with Backup switched on, keep your own copies; you should never rely on any single service, ours included, as the only home for your business records.

You own your data. We claim no rights over your entries, clients, rates or invoices.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use WorkGlass to break the law, to store or transmit malicious code, to attack or overload the service or its infrastructure, to get around the trial or license check, or to gain access to another person's account or data.

8. Availability

WorkGlass is a small independent product, not an enterprise platform, and no uptime is guaranteed. Service may be interrupted for maintenance or by a provider's outage. Because the app runs locally, an outage generally affects only Backup and Sync, not your ability to keep working.

Features may be added, changed or removed over time. If a feature you paid for is being removed, you will be told in advance.

9. Warranty disclaimer

WorkGlass is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. It is a tool for recording your time, not a substitute for professional accounting, tax or legal advice. Check your invoices and your tax filings.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, G Schultz Design LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue or lost data, arising out of your use of WorkGlass. Total liability for any claim relating to WorkGlass is limited to the amount you paid for your license in the twelve months before the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits. Where that is so, they apply to the greatest extent permitted, and nothing here limits liability for fraud or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Ending the agreement

You may stop using WorkGlass and ask for your account to be deleted at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, in which case you can export your data first unless the breach makes that impossible. Sections 2, 6, 9, 10 and 13 survive termination.

12. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated; the effective date above will change when they are. Material changes will be emailed to license holders before they take effect. Continuing to use WorkGlass after that means you accept the revision. Your perpetual license and its price will never be converted into a subscription.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of Pinellas County, Florida have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer-protection law in your own country gives you the right to bring a claim locally.
