Privacy Policy

WorkGlass is built and run by G Schultz Design LLC, a one-person design studio in Palm Harbor, Florida. This policy explains what WorkGlass collects, what it does not, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

1. What WorkGlass collects

Your account

To sign in you provide an email address and a password. These are handled by Netlify Identity, which stores the email address and a hashed password. WorkGlass uses the email address to identify your account, deliver your license, and reach you about the product.

Your work data

Time entries, clients, projects, rates, invoices, expenses and your appearance settings are stored in your browser on your device, in local storage. In this default state your work data is never transmitted anywhere and WorkGlass has no copy of it.

If you turn on Backup from the top bar, that same data is encrypted in transit and stored under your account in Netlify Blobs so it can sync to your other devices. It is stored under your own account key and is not combined with anyone else's data. Switching Backup off stops further syncing; ask by email and the stored copy will be deleted.

Your purchase

Orders are processed by our online reseller Paddle.com, the merchant of record for WorkGlass. Paddle collects your name, email address, billing address and payment details, and handles sales tax and VAT. WorkGlass never receives or stores your card number. What reaches WorkGlass is an order confirmation: your email address, your license, and the date and amount of the purchase.

Support email

If you email support, that message and your address are kept so the conversation makes sense. They are not used for anything else.

2. What WorkGlass does not collect

• No analytics or usage tracking. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no session recorder, no heatmap.
• No advertising, and no data sold or shared with advertisers or data brokers, not now and not later.
• No third-party cookies. The only cookie or token stored is the one that keeps you signed in.
• No location data, contacts, or access to any other file on your device.

3. Who else is involved

WorkGlass relies on a small number of providers, each for one job:

• Netlify: hosting, sign-in (Identity), and Backup storage (Blobs).
• Paddle: checkout, payment processing, tax, receipts and refunds, as merchant of record.

Each processes data only to provide that service. Your information is not sold, rented, or traded. It would be disclosed otherwise only if legally required, and you would be told unless the law forbade it.

4. How long things are kept

Account details and any backed-up work data are kept for as long as your account exists. Purchase records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require, currently seven years. Ask for your account to be deleted and it will be, along with any backed-up data, within 30 days; the purchase record stays, because the law requires it.

5. Your control over your data

• Export. The top bar has a JSON export button. It produces a complete, readable copy of everything WorkGlass holds about your work, any time, without asking anyone.
• Delete. Clearing your browser's site data removes the local copy. Emailing support removes the account and any backed-up copy.
• Access and correction. Ask what is held about you and it will be sent. Ask for a correction and it will be made.
• Objection and restriction. If you are in the EU, UK, California or another region with these rights, you have them here, and exercising them will never degrade the product for you.

Email hello@myworkglass.com for any of the above. Requests are answered within 30 days, usually much sooner.

6. Where data is stored

WorkGlass is operated from the United States, and Netlify's and Paddle's infrastructure is used to store and process data. If you are outside the US, using WorkGlass means your information is processed in the US and in the other regions those providers operate in.

7. Security

Traffic is served over HTTPS, passwords are hashed by Netlify Identity, and backed-up data is reachable only with your own signed-in session. No system is perfect; the local-first design is a deliberate part of the answer, because data that never leaves your device cannot be taken from a server.

8. Children

WorkGlass is a tool for working professionals and is not directed to children under 16. Accounts are not knowingly created for them, and one found to belong to a child will be deleted.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it. A change that materially affects how your data is handled will be emailed to you before it takes effect.
